Types of Industrial Cutting Tools
Straight knives
Straight knives are used in granulators and shears, either as the stator knife or the rotor/moving knife cutting the feed materials in a scissors like action into smaller particles.
Hooked knives
Designed for shredding operations of tough or highly contaminated materials. They commonly are used in the initial step of a size reduction operation to prepare the bulky feed materials into more manageable sizes.
Knives with Inlay
Such knives are commonly used in very harsh conditions with extremely high wear and tear. Be it materials filled with glass fiber reinforcements or similar, or feed materials coming from landfills or agricultural operations with lots of impurities, the knives with inlays outlast traditional knives by many times
Grinding discs and segments
Grinding discs or segments are used to produce powder like final products. The final size can be influenced by the size, profile, and pitch of the teeth. To adobe to various feed materials the alloy can be adjusted and several surface coatings such as TiN coating are applied to enhance the lifetime of the tools.
